The update has yet to reach all Android users and is available from version 201904084 of the app. The Material Design makeover removes the blue headings from the app, and instead of a link that says "Spend Your Play credit", there is a lozenge-shaped link that includes the Play Store logo and just says "Play store (sic)." Tapping that will take you to Google's Android app storefront to help you redeem the credits that you've earned.
The app notifies you when there is a new survey to take. Any credits received are yours to spend in the Google Play Store, although they do expire if you don't use them more than one year from the date that they were credited to your account.
The new Materials Design look is also being pushed out to the iOS version of the app. While the Android version of the app provides users with Play Store credit, the iOS variant pays out cash that is deposited into the user's PayPal account. That's because iOS users can't use the Google Play Store on their devices.
